if you are a wingshooter, chances are that you've either been to South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay or Paraquay) for the fabulous dove, pigeon, duck, goose and perdiz hunting that is found in those countries. Tens of thousands of hunters travel from around the world each year to enjoy this wingshooting bounty. As of late, there are rumors that the great shooting days are over and the bird numbers just aren't what they once were. This week Marty welcomes old friend John Wiles of Best Wingshooting.com to the show to separate fact from fiction. John has been booking clients to South America for years, and if anyone knows the lay of the land and the bird numbers, it's John. We'll also talk about other great wingshoting venues around the world, but because so many hunters travel to the various South American countries, primarily Argentina, the focus will be on setting the record straight. Marty Fischer is one of America’s best-known outdoor celebrities. A graduate of Georgia Southern College, he has been an outdoor television host for almost three decades on shows like Suzuki Great Outdoors on ESPN, Shotgun Journal on the Outdoor Life Network, TNT Outdoor Explosion and “If It Flies…” on the Pursuit Channel. He is a well-known outdoor writer who has authored two books, The Gun Digest Book of Shotgunning and Limbhangers and 4-Letter Words, a book on turkey hunting. In addition to his books, he has written articles for many of the top outdoor magazines on the market. Marty is a NSCA Level III Certified Instructor who has been coaching wing and clay shooters for more than 35 years. He was recently called “the most famous left handed wingshooter in the world” by the popular Shotgun Life website. He is an avid upland bird, waterfowl and turkey hunter who has harvested more than 100,000 gamebirds in 11 countries on four continents around the world and in more than 35 U.S. states. Marty has been a finalist in the World Duck Calling Championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas on four occasions, including a Top 5 finish in that event. He is also a public speaker and President of SportShooting Consultants, Ltd., a gun club design and consulting company that he has owned and managed since 1992.
