Episode Description
This episode of the Living to 100 Club Radio show brings author, seniors advocate, and community consultant William Kelly, to discuss the unique challenges faced by the older adult gay community. From challenges in housing, medical care – including long term care – social activities, and community support systems that are unique to this group, sometimes due to attitudes of discrimination, rejection, and feeling marginalized, we will explore resources available, as well as solutions that can be adopted by neighborhood planning groups, community organizations, and government decisions, decisions that affect land use, building codes, communication, and transportation. These issues and challenges run the gamut for the older adult gay community and are an important subject that we will take up in our next Living to 100 Club Radio show. We will also talk about our guest’s Facebook group, its goals and steps to joining. Be sure to tune in to our live episode.
