We believe in effective altruism and our hosts, Joven Hundal and Siri Phaneendra explain how scattering kindness and being altruistic is bringing people together during this Covid-19 pandemic. To bring a bit of light-heartedness and fun to the show, they interview author Jennifer Keishin Armstrong about her newest book, Pop Star Goddesses, a compendium of 35 incredible female popstars, whose energies, virtues, and vices make them our role models, whether we’re getting ready to walk onstage or into a meeting. With her energetic flair, Jennifer highlights Beyonce, Pink, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and more and matches them to revered mythic goddesses. Pop Star Goddesses explores the significance of 35 of music’s biggest goddesses and examines what they have represented through their lives and careers, as well as what they have meant to critics and fans. Within the walls of the young adult community, listeners are uplifted and encouraged to be the stars of your own life. Through collaboration and conversation, a global campus of young people express their views. Topics include anything that kids talk about-books, music, making a difference, technology, school, art, humor, writing, tough talks, health, sports, films, family, friends, foes, fashion, and fun. Broadcasting since 2011, twenty-seven young people from around the United States have regularly shared their passions and interests as hosts and reporters on Express Yourself! These teens are not afraid of the tough topics and thrill at the opportunity of interviewing a variety of guests including authors, actors, Olympians, scientists, musicians, poets, and experts of varied disciplines.
