Prejudice is the result of fear and ignorance as illustrated in 3 outstanding films now screening on the Planet Classroom YouTube Channel: Siroun Webcast, Through the Wall, and Swimming Upstream. Youth voices from around the world join ORB, Planet Classroom’s virtual host, to focus on the Japanese Canadian internment and struggle for redress, the Armenian Genocide and the lessons relevant now, and the Mexico-United States border wall. Audiences will find themselves immersed in the realities of people and communities that have faced racism and ethnic cleansing and continue to struggle with the aftermath. Guests suggest solutions for building bridges and inspiring positive change.

The Planet is a Classroom where learning together brings us together.

Planet Classroom brings together musicians, dancers, video game creators, filmmakers, learning innovators and emerging technologists from all over the world to entertain, educate and engage us.

Why do we need Planet Classroom? The world is facing many problems and we believe Youth are helping to solve them. Every show will feature youth voices sharing their passions, their ideas and their solutions for a better future.

Orb

Orb is Planet Classroom’s virtual guide. Orb is a resource for everyday facts and figures and real-time information. Orb speaks in the present tense. Orb has a number of catch phrases and questions Orb likes to ask. We will learn more about Orb with each new show. Can Orb speak foreign languages? Does Orb have the capacity to understand any intellectual task or is Orb limited to those tasks Orb does now. Is Orb an Android? Is Orb empathetic and kind? Is Orb masculine or feminine? Can Orb reason and learn? We will use our imaginations to determine what the true character of Orb means to each one of us.
