Episode Description

Kathryn interviews Author Dr. Jack Wiley. America is experiencing The Big Quit. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics four million workers left their jobs in April 2021, and one out of every four workers plan to look for a new job post pandemic. A major contributing factor is an epidemic of poor management. Dr. Jack Wiley’s comprehensive guide for improving day-to-day people management skills provides a clear, concise and easy-to-follow framework for improving effectiveness and the psychological well-being of employees. It includes the 5 key behaviors employees value most and the challenges of managing a hybrid/remote workplace. Dr. Wiley was awarded the prestigious Professional Practice award by the Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychology, a lifetime achievement award for outstanding contributions to the practice of industrial-organizational psychology. Kathryn also interviews Author James Greenblatt MD. Anorexia nervosa is a serious and potentially life-threatening disorder characterized by an intense fear of gaining weight, dangerous weight loss, and distorted body image. The one thread linking every single eating disorder is nutrition. Or, more accurately, malnutrition. Anorexia is a biological illness fundamentally sustained by starvation and malnutrition, whether self-imposed or the product of genetic, psychosocial, or environmental circumstances. Psychiatrist, James Greenblatt MD, consolidates research on the role of nutrition and nutritional deficiencies in anorexia that, at present, are poorly integrated into clinical practice. He is the founder of Psychiatry Redefined, and is Chief Medical Officer at Walden Behavioral Care in Walden MA.
