The WALK OF HEARTS Foundation was founded by one of its civic leaders, Joseph Andrews, an active business member and President Emeritus of the Canoga Park/West Hills Chamber of Commerce. Its premise and mission is to provide a distinguished award to teachers in recognition of their dedication and continued record of excellence in education, whose work affects social change in the community. The “In Discussion” program examines the Foundation’s challenges and success in socio-economic areas, where education and the community at large benefit from its programs. Also joining the program is Dennis P. Zine, Los Angeles City Councilman, who was first elected to represent Council District 3 in 2001.The Foundation is endorsed by Congressman Brad Sherman, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, State Assembly Member Lloyd Levine, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and others.
