Shape Up US is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to building a healthy future for America by providing comprehensive wellness programs that work and the solution for childhood obesity! Shape up US to provides teachers, children, parents, and their community with educational tools to make informed decisions about their overall wellness with a focus on cardio-vascular health, physical exercises, nutrition, mental and emotional well-being. Our Goal: We aim to empower children and families to lead healthier, happier and more meaningful lives with tools to help arrest childhood cardiovascular disease, obesity, and diabetes. By creating a circle of wellness education that flows from teacher to student, parents, grandparents, and the entire community, we hope to energize and encourage individuals and groups to inspire others to seek similar goals. Dr Karen Jacobson, a Family Chiropractor is the President of the Board of Directors of Shape Up US, is here to share exciting news about upcoming events. Michelle’s background includes 15 –years in Radio, Television, Public Relations, production, sales, marketing and events giving her a systemic understanding of the most effective ways in which the Media can be leveraged.
Michelle has been a successful Executive Producer and talk show personality for over a decade. She has created, developed and produced over 150 talk radio programs for AM & FM stations nationally. She has worked for CBS, ESPN, TNT, PAC 10 Football, FOX Sports, The Golf Channel and NBC’s Unsolved Mysteries. She is respected as one of the most well-connected professionals in the Media, and operates with a high level of integrity, professionalism and commitment.
Michelle graduated from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communications with a B.S. in Broadcasting, and emphasis in Television & Film production.
Michelle’s philanthropic passions are expressed through her company Chicks4Change - a charity support group committed to making a difference by serving the community and dedicated to education, awareness and prevention. She has donated countless hours to both local and national non-profit organizations through her fundraising events and as a 7-time marathoner. She’s also a Top National Fundraiser for Childhelp USA and the American Stroke Association's Train to End Stroke program. Michelle is a Triple Virgo, has lived in the Phoenix area for almost 20 years, currently residing in Scottsdale, Arizona.
