Episode Description
Research by McKinsey and the women’s advocacy group Catalyst shows that women represent more than half of entry-level professionals in American industrial corporations but account for only three percent of Fortune 500 CEOS, and less than 15 percent of executive positions at top organizations. With such an emphasis on women in the workforce over the last 40 years, why is there only minimal progress for women moving into top leadership positions? Simmons College President Helen Drinan, a former banking executive, will share her personal career path, failures and successes, and lessons learned. She also will share the importance of helping women to reach their full potential to better use 100 percent of our nation’s talent pool, and the upcoming inspiring and empowering Simmons Leadership Conference, which takes place on April 23 in Boston.
