Sarah Sherwood
Sarah Sherwood is currently an Assistant Professor in the Environment Studies Program at Sewanee: the University of the south, where is also serves as the University Archaeologist. She received her PhD from the University of Tennessee in 2001. Prior to coming to Sewanee Dr. Sherwood worked as a consulting Geoarchaeologist and Associate Director for the Archaeology Research Laboratory at the University of Tennessee. She has conducted field work across the Eastern US and overseas in Iceland, South Africa, Western and Eastern Europe. She is currently working in two very different parts of the world, on the Southern Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee and Alabama and in the Balkans of Eastern Europe.
