Leslie Lukacs

Leslie Lukacs is a founder and principal of L2 Environmental,(L2) and has over 15 years experience providing sound environmental consulting services for both the private and public sectors. Leslie specializes in the design and implementation of comprehensive sustainability and zero waste programs for large institutions, public agencies, venues, and events throughout the Nation. Experience includes recycling program development and coordination, stakeholder outreach management, waste audits and characterization studies, extended producer responsibility ordinance preparation and implementation, compliance, and grant writing and administration. Leslie has been instrumental in pioneering the greening of venues and events throughout the nation and is a leading advocate for the industry. She has implemented diversion programs at national football stadiums, government facilities, universities, theme parks, convention centers, performing art centers, fairgrounds, and numerous large events. Leslie is founder and Chair of the Green Initiatives for Venues and Events (GIVE) Council, an organization dedicated to increasing the awareness of implementing green programs at venues and special events. Under Leslie's direction, GIVE was the lead sponsor to a California venues and event recycling bill that was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger in September 2004. Leslie currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Resource Recovery Association, the state's largest resource conservation organization. Leslie has presented at numerous industry and non-industry conferences as a keynote presenter or session speaker. Ms. Lukacs has presented at the following conferences: Zero Waste International Association conference in Brazil (2010, 2011, 2012), US Zero Waste Business Council, California Resource Recovery Association, Solid Waste Association of North America, Association of Zoos and Aquariums, R-05 World Congress on Recycling, Recycling, and Re-integration - Beijing, Western Fairs Association, US Conference of Mayors, Recycling Council of British Columbia, North Central Texas Council of Governments, Green Event Summit, UC Davis - Plan Green, San Mateo County - RecycleWorks, Texas Festivals & Events Association, Fisherman's Wharf Community Benefit District, California Downtown District, and the Special Events Show (2011, 2012).
