Beth Burke, L.Ac., M.Ac.
Beth Burke, L.Ac., M.Ac. Beth is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and in Economics, where she also was on the varsity swim team. After college she worked in the field of accounting and finance for several years before she decided to make a change. Her interest in Chinese medicine began while studying Tai Chi and Kung Fu at the Hung Tao Choy Mei Academy in Washington, DC. She received her Master of Acupuncture from the Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts, the oldest accredited acupuncture program in the United States. She also received a certificate of Chinese herbal study from the Tai Sophia Institute. She is licensed by the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture. Her Acupuncture and Chinese herbal practice is located at the Spectrum Center for Natural Medicine in downtown Silver Spring. Currently she is also a Chinese herbal supervisor at the program for Chinese herbology at the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD.
