Michael John Derricott - 'Makeovers That Matter' is the brainchild of West Hollywood Stylist, Michael John, dedicated to empowering economically disadvantaged women with hair and makeup services for job interviews to rejoin the workforce. No stranger to the idea of "Giving Back", Michael first conceived the project while spending his Tuesdays styling hair for residents of the Get Love Homeless Shelter. "An important part of building a woman's self esteem is having a style that can make her proud. We provide women with the drive and desire to change their lives with a new look that will help them rejoin the workforce." MJ, who has been a stylist for over 20 years, has worked such notable establishments as Umberto's of Beverly Hills, B2V's and Nick Chavez. His salon in West Hollywood, MJ Hair Salon, currently has a client list that includes some of the top professionals in Los Angeles. MJ hopes to fill a void in the non-profit organizations that currently exist to help underprivileged women.
