Velma Penermon Stevens, MSW, ACSW
Velma Penermon Stevens, MSW, ACSW, is a member of NASW and she serves on the steering committee of the Big Bend Unit of NASW-FL Chapter. She works for the Sickle Cell Foundation, Incorporated, where she has been employed for the past 9 years. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University and her graduate degree from Florida State University. She has worked in the field of social work for the past 20 years. She has worked with various populations e.g. substance abuse, domestic violence, homeless, youth, mental health and other disenfranchised populations. She also has experience as a hospice social worker. She is also very actively involved in her local church where her husband serves as pastor of the small congregation.
