Ann Palmer

Author Ann Palmer is the parent of a 30 year old son with autism. She is currently a Faculty member at the Carolina Institute on Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) located at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is the former Director of Advocacy and Chapter Support for the Autism Society of North Carolina where she coordinated over 50 Chapters and support groups across the state of North Carolina. She was the Parent Support Coordinator for Division TEACCH for 14 years, developing and coordinating a parent mentor program that served more than 800 families in North Carolina. She has presented internationally in Japan and Denmark and has done numerous conferences in the US including the Autism Society of America National Conference, the Kate Welling Disability Lecture Series and the Association of Higher Education and Disabilities Annual Conference.
