Bob Randall
Bob is a teaching uncle, a “Tjilpi” of the Yankunytiatjara Nation working for equal rights of all living, land rights for traditional peoples, the environment, and community development. He worked as a counselor through the Methodist Uniting Church. He also helped establish the Adelaide Community College for Aboriginal people. Some of his other positions include establishing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Centres at Australian National University, University of Canberra and University of Wollongong. His famous song “My Brown Skin Baby They Take ‘im Away” won him widespread recognition. (Picture taken with Energy Medicine Partnerships Tour to Central Australia July 2013.) A documentary film of his story won him the Bronze Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and led to the Australian government stop taking away the Aboriginal children from their families. He was named Indigenous Person of the Year in 1999. He is part of the Energy Medicine Partnerships cultural partners offering joint training and tours to Australia and New Zealand.
