Joanne Peterson is at the helm of www.Learn2Cope.org. A peer support organization/network for families dealing with a loved one suffering from addiction. Currently there are twelve chapters. Brockton,Cambridge, Salem, Lowell, Tewksbury, Gloucester, Quincy, Worcester, Norwell and Yarmouth. Springfield and New Bedford are in the works more news to follow soon. LTC has over 60 trained peer facilitators. Members get support online which is private, free and confidential with over 5000 families registered to our website locally and nationally. Our meeting chapters are in Massachusetts but we get many requests from states across the country to bring LTC there. LT offers support, hope, education and resources. Our online private discussion board, it's free and confidential for family members seeking support 24/7 and sharing resource information and hope. LTC and the state of Massachusetts hit a milestone in December of 2011 becoming the first parent organization in the country to have parents trained and certified from the Department of Public Health's Bureau of Substance Abuse Services to pass out Narcan at our chapters. There are 34 parents trained and certified today and so far 16 lives have been saved with in our groups.
