Dr. John P. Cochran
Dr. John Cochran is currently Emeritus Prof. of Economics and Emeritus Dean of the School of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Previously, he was Chair and Prof. of Economics at Metropolitan State College of Denver where he taught economics from 1981. He has been a visiting professor at the Univ. of Colorado-Boulder and is a Sr. Scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, the leading research and educational center of classical liberalism and the Austrian School of economics. He has a PhD in economics from the University of Colorado-Boulder (1985). He co-authored (with Fred R. Glahe) The Hayek-Keynes Debate: Lessons for Current Business Cycle Research (Edwin Mellen Press 1999). He has published numerous scholarly articles on the refinement and development of the Mises/Hayek Austrian theory of the business cycle. In addition to his scholarly publications, Dr. Cochran frequently provides commentary on the economy in the “Mises Daily and blog posts on Bastiat Circle.
