Elizabeth McMeekin
Married for 24 years, Elizabeth McMeekin and Phil Moses have been living, working and raising three children in Takoma Park, MD, for the past 17 years after having worked in Nicaragua for six years with the Mennonite Central Committee. Elizabeth currently works with a small community-based organization that helps groups of low-income residents in the Silver Spring area organize for their mutual support. Phil has worked on health-related projects in the US, sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. As parents of three teenagers, they are challenged with the tensions of addressing the needs and expectations related to raising and educating their children, the needs of elder parents, the prospects of planning for their own older years, and their call to live simply.
