Sgt. Maj. Lance Nutt
SgtMaj Lance Nutt was sworn into the Marine Corps in 1988. After being deployed during Desert Storm, Lance attended the Univ. of Arkansas where he pursued majors in business management and communication. After a time in the civilian world, Lance rejoined the Marines and immediately found himself gearing up for a combat tour in Iraq, where he served numerous tours. He is currently serving as the Sergeant Major of 4th Force Reconnaissance Company headquartered in California. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Lance felt compelled to use his military experience to help. Along with the support of others, he led an independent relief effort into the heart of the Katrina aftermath. The experience of helping others eventually led Lance to found Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA). Inspired by a desire to continue serving his country beyond the Corps, and knowing that others like him, fellow “Sheep Dogs”, needed an outlet for continued service, Lance built the foundation for SDIA.
