Dottie Laster
Influenced by a class speaker in college, Dottie Laster began work in anti-human trafficking on a global scale. While studying in Paris & Budapest she was confronted with those sold into modern slavery. Dottie was appointed to the US Attorney’s Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance, then selected by the US Attorney’s Office to be certified by the Department of Justice to train law enforcement & others on human trafficking. She is the co-founder of San Antonio’s TX Coalition Against Human Trafficking & past Administrator of Orange County, CA Human Trafficking Task Force. Currently, Dottie is Program Director with Bernardo Kohler Center in Austin, TX & CEO of Laster Global Consulting. She consults in many high profile trafficking cases & is responsible for rescue & restoration of hundreds of trafficking victims. Dottie served as technical advisor and/or producer of major network TV & movie projects. She was featured in The Cantinera, a documentary on sex trafficking in Latin bars and cantinas and her direct rescue work will be the subject of the television series, Project Red Light. She is the recipient of several human rights awards and has been featured in numerous publications.
