Dr. Jim Nourse
Dr. Jim Nourse has been in private practice since 1980. From 1975 to 1980 he served as Staff Psychologist and director of Clinical Psychology Training at the Hampton, Virginia V.A. Medical Center and as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. His 40 years in the health care field have been driven by a passion for the application of ancient and transpersonal approaches to problems faced by modern people. In addition to his training in psychology and acupuncture, Jim has had the good fortune to study with revered elders and teachers, including Stan and Christina Grof, Michael Harner, Beautiful Painted Arrow, Stanley Kopa Kaluahine, and ‘Ihaleakalā Hew Len. He lives in North Carolina with his wife Judith, a teacher and practitioner of reflexology and Feng Shui, and his cat Charlie, who practices cat medicine.
