Officer Eric Vogt
Officer Eric Vogt is an 18 year veteran in law enforcement. He started his police career at Eastern Illinois University, then transferred to the University of Illinois. He has worked as a Detective, a bicycle officer, an instructor and is currently in the patrol division. Eric holds a Degree in Psychology from EIU with an emphasis in counseling. He served as a therapist for behavioral disorders, drug addicts, individuals with mental disability and individuals in crisis for 6 years before becoming a police officer. Eric is an instructor at the Police Training Institute, providing training on topics including Crisis Intervention, Police - Citizen Relations and Variant Behavior. He has received the “Instructor of the Year” award from the American Red Cross and he has been recognized for his performance as a police negotiator. He has served as Crisis Intervention Team member for over 12 years and has been on the METRO/SWAT team as a Negotiator for 11 years.
