William Beach
William Beach recently joined the Senate Budget Committee, Minority Staff as its Chief Economist. He is responsible for the Committee’s economic analysis and for preparing key components of the Senate budget. Prior to this position, Beach served for 13 years as the director of the Center for Data Analysis (CDA) at The Heritage Foundation. As CDA Director, Beach supervised Heritage’s original statistical research on Social Security, crime, education, trade and a host of other issues, ensuring it is both rigorous in its technical scholarship and produced in time to help inform the public debate over the issue.
Before joining Heritage, Beach served as the President of the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University. IHS is an international organization that provides professional and financial support for undergraduate and graduate students in the humanities and social sciences. He was a senior economist at the Sprint Corporation headquarters in Kansas City prior to his move to IHS.
