Matt Rusling has lived and worked on five continents over seven years in countries including Japan, Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Germany, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Washington DC.
His specialties include forced labor/ human trafficking in Thailand/Myanmar, U.S.-China relations, U.S.-Japan-China relations, U.S.-China trade, China's economy, Thailand's politics, Thailand's economy, U.S. foreign policy.
He has interviewed U.S. defense secretaries, White House officials, Japanese politicians, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, North Korean refugees and Burmese forced labor and human trafficking victims. He has toured the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba prison that houses al Qaeda members and lived in Zimbabwe when the country’s economy plunged into chaos in 2000.
