Dr. Chung is the President of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She is an Associate Professor and Director of Optometric Education at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry.

Dr. Chung received her Doctor of Optometry from the SUNY College of Optometry in 1993. She completed her residency training in the area of Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Dr. Chung was formerly Chief of the Pediatrics Service and a full-time professor at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York for 19 years. Dr. Chung is a certified fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Chung has published, lectured, and granted interviews on topics related to children eye and vision care, including topics related to vision development, vision and learning, vision therapy, myopia, ocular therapeutics, and pediatric ocular disease. Dr. Chung is a primary investigator for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) and has conducting research in the areas of hyperopia, convergence insufficiency, and amblyopia.

Dr. Chung frequently serves as a vision consultant for non-profit vision groups, private and public schools, and Head Start programs.
