Philip Wayne Strambler
Philip Strambler, A Viet Nam era Marine Corps officer, founded the In Honor of Our Troops (IHOOT) Foundation in January of 2002 in Washington, DC.
He was the Director of Marketing and Commercial Activities in the Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation Directorate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center for over 15 years.
Phil Strambler retired and became IHOOT’s Chief Executive Officer when the Walter Reed Washington, DC campus closed and realigned at Bethesda, Maryland.
IHOOT’s very popular Vacations for Vets Program provides rest, recuperation and therapeutic healing for service men, women, wounded warriors and veterans.
The IHOOT foundation is proud to have provided free accommodations for thousands of military and veteran families to help them reconnect and reestablish healthy family relationships, especially following war and long deployments.
