Nancy D. Butler

Nancy D. Butler

At age 31, while in the process of a divorce with no child support, alimony or other source of income and only $2,000 to her name, Nancy started her own business. She was offered a salaried position at a higher pay than she ever had before but realized they were hiring her at the top of the ladder, leaving her no place to grow. She knew she did not want a job – she needed a career. Nancy chose to start a financial planning and asset management business. She knew nothing about saving, investing or financial planning and had never owned a CD, mutual fund or anything other than a savings account and set out to learn what she needed to do a great job for her clients and build a successful business. She built her business from scratch to approx. $200 million in assets under management and then sold her practice. Nancy has been quoted in many local and national publications including USA Today, Money Magazine, Playboy Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, and AARP.
