Jenifer Joy Madden
Jenifer Joy Madden is an adjunct professor of digital journalism, an author, and a speaker. Her words and images have informed millions on news outlets including ABC, PBS, Discovery Health Channel, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, and her blog, DurableHuman.com. JJ also develops products to help families manage their digital lives so that family members are close to each other, are individually happy and healthy, and are effective contributors to society.
Jenifer was a pre-medical student at the University of Notre Dame and president of the college pre-med honor society, but when she spent a summer studying dance, a creative side of her was awakened. She realized that she would rather communicate about health than practice medicine. She has built her career on being able to understand the scientific concepts and then explain them to lay people in terms they can easily understand.
