Blaine Wright

Blaine Wright

Having grown up in the family business of horse race training in Washington state, Blaine Wright began grooming race horses at age 14. Upon graduating high school in 1992, he joined his father’s stable and served as his head assistant 1995 to 2000. Blaine left the business from 2000 to 2005 to see what life had to offer outside of racing horses and worked among other things as a journeyman in the heating and air conditioning industry. Realizing he could not ignore his passion for animals, Blaine resumed full-time work in the horse race training field in 2005 and in the fall of 2006 started his own racing stable. He has raced horses up and down the west coast ever since from New Mexico, to Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, and Vancouver, Canada. Blaine currently trains 55-65 horses between Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley, California and Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington. He employs up to 25 people between these two states and travels back and forth every week.
