Steve Hunkler
Steve joined State Auto in August 2009 as Chief Claims Officer. He is currently responsible for all pre-loss and post-loss initiatives from a Claims, Loss Control and Premium Audit standpoint for Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and Specialty books of business.
For over 30 years, Steve has held many senior leadership roles at other property and casualty insurance carriers such as Zurich, AIG, Travelers, CNA and Balboa Insurance Group.
Steve is recognized nationally and in Ohio as an industry and community leader. He serves as Chairman of the Ohio Insurance Institute (2015-2017), Board Director for the Ohio Insurance Guarantee Association, Board Director of Central Ohio American Charities, Claims and Litigation Management Advisory Board member and as a Chancellor for the Claims College. He serves as Co-Chair of the Chief Claims Officer Summit (2012-2015).
