Dr. Erin Casey
Erin A. Casey, MSW, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Washington, Tacoma. Prior to joining the UWT faculty, Erin’s social work practice included working with survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault, and implementing community and school-based violence prevention programs. Currently, her research examines social network and community approaches to the prevention of gender-based violence, including engaging men as anti-violence allies and proactive bystanders. Her work also explores risk factors for violence perpetration, and the intersections between violence, masculinities, and sexual risk. She co-directs the Mobilizing Men for Violence Prevention research collaborative, which takes a global perspective on examining effective approaches to proactively enlisting men’s participation in gender-based violence prevention.
