Ariel Adams
Ariel is a Marriage and Family Therapist at the Living Arts Counseling Center in the East Bay. After years of being an English teacher, Ariel went back to school at the age of 47 to become a therapist. It was just at that time she noticed people were treating her differently, like calling her Ma’am and not flirting with her, because of her age. So she wrote her thesis on creative aging for women, and that has been her specialty ever since. Most recently, she developed a group for women 50 and older called Ageless Pizazz. This group takes the challenges, frustrations, and pain we have around aging and uses creative arts, drama, and storytelling to play with them, turn them into art and drama, and transform ourselves and our experience of aging in the process. Ariel is currently writing a book titled Ageless Pizazz! Nine Secrets for Turning Up Your Oomph, Having More Fun, and Being More Powerful as You Get Older.
