Cecil Byrd
Cecil Byrd has been serving veterans as they transition into civilian life for over forty years. After his discharge from the Army in ‘72 he returned to the Univ of Alabama to complete graduate work and head up its Office of Veterans Affairs. In ‘84 he became the Executive Director of Natl Assn of Concerned Veterans in DC. NACV is a 501 c 19 advocating for and serving the neediest of veterans. NACV has trained, housed and employed literally thousands of DC area vets alone. Today its major focus is its comprehensive re entry GREAT EXPECTATIONS program model. At its peak NACV had over 3000 chapters in over 35 states around the country. He has worked closely with Local, State and Federal Agencies & Congress, as well as, VSOs, CBOs and private sector around the country.
