Darren Stein
A second generation LA native, Darren was raised in a film family, with his grandparents starting a boutique film lab in 1961. His first forays behind the camera starred his childhood friends and were featured on the 'Home Movies' episode of NPR's “This American Life.” Darren is known for directing the films SPARKLER, JAWBREAKER and G.B.F. He won a Clio for his 2013 Alexander Wang fashion film and most recently wrote the final FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC movie for Lifetime. JAWBREAKER THE MUSICAL premieres at Seattle’s Fifth Avenue Theater in October.
