Matthew G. Smith
Matt Smith has been in the field of substance abuse prevention for over 25 years, spending nearly twenty years in various positions with WNY United Against Drug & Alcohol Abuse and over six years as Executive Director of Preventionfocus, Inc. Over his career, Matt has created numerous special events, awareness campaigns, workshops, camps, fundraisers, classroom curriculum packages, informational materials and other prevention tools and strategies. Matt serves as Chairman of the WNY Chemical Dependency Consortium, a collaborative of nearly all of the agencies in the eight-county region of WNY that provide substance abuse treatment, recovery and prevention services. He is also the environmental strategies/awareness chair of Px21, a collaborative of all substance abuse prevention organizations in Erie County and Vice Chair of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Erie County and is a member of the Erie County Opiate Task Force and the Erie County Anti-Stigma Task Force.
