Dr. Fossel has an MD and a PhD (in neurobiology) from Stanford University. A clinical professor of medicine for almost 3 decades, he is considered the world foremost expert on telomeres, aging, and age-related disease. He published the very first articles on the potential of telomeres as a clinical intervention two decades ago, and is the author of the only medical textbook in this field, Cells, Aging, and Human Disease. He was the editor-in-chief of several medical journals, the director of the American Aging Association, and is the current medical advisor of the Dementia Society of America. He has authored multiple books, chapters, and articles, including his latest book, The Telomerase Revolution, which was praised by the Wall Street Journal as one of the five best science books of the year. He is founder and president Telocyte, a biotech firm taking telomere therapy to human trials next year to cure Alzheimer’s.
