Bernie Pasqualini Chairperson/ President
Bernie joined the US Navy in January of 1966. He served boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois. Completed Basic Electricity and Electronic School and then completed the Interior Communication Electrician “A” School. Upon completion, he was assigned to the USS Saratoga CVA 60 in the late fall of 1966. Instead of going to the engineering department, he was escorted to the air department, in the V2 launch and recovery division. He soon learned that my assignment was to apprentice as the Fresnel Lens Optical Landing Aid System maintenance.
He finished his four-year tenure in the U.S. Navy with a 3.9 work skill evaluation receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of second class petty officer (IC2).
After separation, he applied the skill training he received to become an electrician. Eventually his career took him to the Albany, Oregon area where he retired as an electrician. During this time, he was introduced to and joined the Viet Nam Veterans of America, Chapter 585.
