Alexandra Coso Strong
Dr. Alexandra Coso Strong is an assistant professor of systems design and engineering at Olin College of Engineering. Through her research and educational design work, she explores the practices and pathways of engineers and educators to support educational change and design projects. She teaches courses in human-centered and educational design, as well as engineering modeling and analysis. Alexandra holds a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, an M.S. in systems engineering from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in aerospace engineering from MIT. She was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and her doctoral research aimed to foster students’ abilities to think more broadly about complex systems design and consider stakeholder needs in design. As a post-doctoral scholar, she conducted research in future faculty development and collaborated with colleagues to design programming for educators interested in improving student learning in their courses.
