Jimmy McNerney
Jimmy McNerney doesn’t have dark days, serving as the voice of Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky. in the summer and Turfway Park in Florence, Ky., in the winter, as well as jockey agent at Indiana Grand for apprentice Katie Clawson, Deshawn Parker and Leandro Goncalves.
McNerney also hosts the weekly handicapping show Inside Track at Ellis Park and is the on-air television host and racing analyst at Turfway. He was born into a large horse racing family, growing up on the backstretch of racetracks throughout the country. McNerney worked his way up through the racing office ranks and while at Beulah Park wrote the scripts for the “Beulah Twins” daily handicapping segment and became interested in calling races. He became an agent in 2000, his riders having won nearly 6,000 races and 31 riding titles.
