Bob Harder


As Dean of Engineering at George Fox University, Bob Harder is responsible for all aspects of academic administration for the college of engineering and leading faculty in the departments of mechanical and civil engineering, electrical engineering and computer science and mathematics and applied science, chemistry and biology. Bob is a knowledge enterprise architect, with a long history of developing and sustaining innovative academic programs in collaboration with industry partners and community stakeholders. Prior to his academic career, Bob held engineering and management positions in the metals processing industry with Republic Steel, British Steel and US Steel Corporations. Bob has a B.S. and M.S in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Oregon Health & Science University (Oregon Graduate Institute). He lives on a farm in Yamhill, Oregon with his wife and five daughters.
