Gail Rubin
Gail Rubin, The Doyenne of Death, and Certified Thanatologist, helps get end-of-life conversations started with a light touch on a serious subject. She's the author of 3 books on death: A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die; Hail and Farewell: Cremation Ceremonies Templates and Tips; and Kicking the Bucket List: 100 Downsizing and Organizing Things to Do Before You Die. Her motto is: “Just as talking about sex won’t make you pregnant, talking about funerals won’t make you dead." She helped pioneer the Death Cafe movement in the U.S. and is an award-winning speaker. Gail is a breast cancer survivor, and observes, “Nothing reminds you of your own mortality more than a brush with something as serious and transforming as cancer.” She also speaks on radio and on TV/DVD.
