Keith McCalmont
Keith McCalmont is the Communications Manager for Woodbine Entertainment. An award-winning writer covering both Thoroughbred and Standard-bred racing, Keith has traveled the world to cover the sport including three trips to the Hong Kong International Races and a recent stint at Meydan for the Dubai World Cup. Keith creates content, promotes horse racing and oversees all matter of press releases. Occasionally, he arranges photo shoots of cats with Eclipse Award winning horses.
Keith grew up in Toronto and Brampton with Irish parents and spent a great deal of time with his dad watching football (Liverpool) and horse racing. He spent his Sundays together with his dad at Woodbine through the summer and that where he fell in love with the sport watching the stars of Sam-Son and Kinghaven Farm dominate.
His best advice to someone considering ownership:
Buy a turf horse and come to Canada! We’ll have two turf courses here in the near future and the opportunities will be plentiful.
