Chris Heyde is the founder of Blue Marble Strategy, LLC in Washington, DC. They are the first national professional lobbying firm to work primarily on animal protection issues. Before BMS, Chris was head of Government and Legal Affairs for a national animal protection group for 18 years. Prior to that Chris was vice president of a Washington, DC lobbying firm and a legislative staffer in the US Senate. As the nation’s leading animal protection lobbyist, Chris has been involved in countless federal and state legislative efforts from helping to establish a national sanctuary system for chimpanzees to initiating the national campaign against horse slaughter. He is a US Army veteran and received an MA in political science/international relations. Chris currently serves a member of the Jane Goodall Institute's Global Ethics Committee, as vice-chair of Willie's Kids, a non-profit humane education organization founded by family of Willie Nelson and on the advisory board for Predator Defense.
