Dr. Jane K. Vella
JANE VELLA was born and raised in New York City. In 1950 at the age of 19, Jane joined The Maryknoll Sisters and worked in Tanzania as an educator for 21 years, Jane earned an M.A. at Fordham University in 1968 and an Ed.D at the University of Massachusetts in 1978. She is the author of Learning to Listen, Learning to Teaching (Jossey-Bass, 2002) and many other books that are essential reads for anyone in the field of adult learning. After teaching at North Carolina State University and UNC Chapel Hill, Jane founded GLOBAL LEARNING PARTNERS, INC. and created the revolutionary model for learning design known as Dialogue Education. She is now retired in and living in Raleigh NC.
