Lois Wattis
Lois Wattis has been a midwife and IBCLC for about 20 years, and served as an Independently Practising Midwife (IPM) in Western Australia providing midwifery care, home births, and postnatal care with the Community Midwifery Program. Lois has had a private postnatal lactation consultancy service ‘Babymooon Home Visits’ since 2005.
Lois has written journal articles and the textbook Midwifery Best Practice, and is a popular speaker at conferences around Australia. Lois' contribution to midwifery education was recognized when she was made a Fellow of the Australian College of Midwives (FACM) in 2004.
As Clinical Midwife Lactation Consultant in an acute setting for the past decade, she has assisted term/preterm babies to establish breastfeeding skills. Her focus is on empowering and enabling mothers to achieve their breastfeeding goals thru short and long term support. She is the author of
