Dave Basler
Since 2007 Dave Basler has served as the Executive Director of both the Ohio HBPA and the Thoroughbred Horsemen's Health Fund. In this role he has aided in the passing several pieces of legislation vital to the future of thoroughbred racing in Ohio. He graduated from the Ohio State University in 1990 with a BS in Business Administration majoring in Accounting. During college he worked as a mutuel clerk and mutuel line supervisor at Beulah Park. He also worked as a tote technician for Amtote during his final two years of college. Following graduation Dave worked as a racing official at Beulah Park for two years before being hired by Equibase as a chart caller from 1992 to 2007. He also was a freelance reported for the Daily Racing Form from 1999 to 2007. During this period he also owned thoroughbreds. He currently resides in Grove City with his wife of 22 years Jennifer and their son Matthew. In his spare time, he is an avid horseplayer and a nationally ranked powerlifter.
