Ed is founder of boldstart ventures, an NYC-based, first check investor for bold founders reinventing the enterprise stack. boldstart is a lead investor and partners with Fortune 500 CIOs, CTOs, CISOs to accelerate time to market. He loves to work with engineering driven founders with a laser-sharp focus on product. Enduring themes and investment focus include Cloud Native Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Intelligent Automation, and SaaS. Over 22 yrs has seeded and helped scale a number of enterprise startups to exit including big data pioneer Greenplum (EMC/Pivotal), LivePerson (IPO, LPSN), GoToMeeting (Citrix), Divide (Google), GoInstant (Salesforce), Blaze (Akamai), and many others. Current security investments include security scorecard, snyk, hypr, bigid, and smallstep. Ed is currently a director/observer of BigID, Kustomer, FortressIQ, Snyk, Hypr, and Manifold. Ed attended Harvard College where he played on the lacrosse team and graduated with an AB in Economics.
