Jamie Aten
Jamie is a disaster psychologist, author, and speaker. He is also a stage IV early onset colon cancer survivor (almost 5 years NED). Jamie is the founder and executive director of the Humanitarian Disaster Institute and Blanchard Chair of Humanitarian & Disaster Leadership at Wheaton College (IL). His latest book is A Walking Disaster: What Katrina and Cancer Taught Me About Faith and Resilience(Templeton Press). He is also a contributor to CURE Magazine’s Voices and blogs at Fight Colorectal Cancer’s Emotional First Aid and Psychology Today’s Hope + Resilience. In 2016 he received the FEMA Community Preparedness Champion Award at the White House.
