Brian Mahan
Brian is not a traditional talk therapist. He got into this work as client originally. He used to suffer from developmental trauma, social anxiety, self-sabotage, self-loathing, shame, low self-esteem, depression, habitual reenactments, and 7-10 full-blown panic attacks every day, following a catastrophic car wreck. After three sessions with a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, his panic attacks stopped and two weeks later he entered the three year training program. He has been a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner since 2006, assists two faculty members of The Somatic Experiencing Training Institute and now also teaches the Lyon/Rubin Method for healing Shame. He specializes in the physiology of stress, healing shame, and renegotiating shock traumas and developmental trauma.
