I am a single dad of three beautiful children, a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). My passion for healthcare was prompted after helplessly watching a friend foam from the mouth after a seizure. In an attempt to learn how to help until emergency services arrived, I discovered that I could become more helpful if I were to become an EMT. In 2000, I began working for Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, working as an Emergency Room (ER) Patient Care Technician for five (5) years, followed by three (3) years as Mental Health Worker. In 2008, I joined the Nursing Education Team as an Ancillary Nursing Trainer. With the continued urge to grow and conquer, I became a Basic Life Support instructor through the American Heart Association (AHA). Through the murky waters of a divorce, I completed nursing school at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in lower Manhattan. Two years later, I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
